Camper Connection

Parent's Weekend

We encourage parents to visit during Parent’s Weekend at the end of each session. This is a time to reunite with your daughter and meet the other campers and counselors who have been part of her life for the past month.

We show slides of the session, open many activities including the waterfront and ropes course, give awards to each girl, and feed hundreds of hungry families who have been on the road to reach Wavus. It is a perfect time for parents and siblings to enjoy the natural beauty and restfulness of a Maine summer at the Wavus Camp for Girls.

Please click here Directions to Camp for detailed directions.

Please note: If you are arriving on Friday afternoon/evening, you may want to consider avoiding the likely traffic bottleneck on Rt 1 in Wiscasset and take an alternate route. A reasonable alternative is to take Rt 126 from Gardiner (just south of Augusta) to Rt 213 right near Wavus. More details are available on the directions page.

For Introductory Session campers (Junior Wavus) their Parents’ Weekend has a slightly different schedule.

The schedule for July 19th/August 16th is:

9:30– 10:00 a.m. Parents arrive. Parents urged to help girls pack and set bags out in front of cabin. It would be helpful if you would wear nametags, available downstairs in the Jewell Lodge Dining Hall.
10:00 – 2:00 p.m. The Camp Store 'Pride & Passion" will be open at the lower level in the Jewell Lodge
10:30 a.m. Wavus Girls Choral Presentation- Jewell Sunscape
11:30 - 12:10 p.m. Final Chapel service - Chapel in the Pines
12:15– 12:30 p.m. Individual Cabins Award Ceremony
12:30– 2:00 p.m. Selected activities are open.  Relax, have fun and get to know Wavus better.  You’re welcome to get on the road at your convenience or to stay around to enjoy camp.
10:30– 1:30 p.m. World Famous Slide Show of this summer’s adventures in the Jewell Lodge - continuous showing
12:30– 1:30 p.m. Picnic lunch at Jewell Lodge.
2:00 Final lowering of the flag, song, and resounding Wavus cheer. Activities are open.

We look forward to seeing you at Parent’s Weekend!
