Bethie Fowler
My name is Bethie Fowler, and this will be my first year at Camp Wavus. I'm going into my fourth year at Trinity College Dublin, where I study Drama and Theatre. I also work in children's television at RTE. I'm looking forward to being introduced to all the wonderful activities and people at camp this year, and I can't wait to do drama arts and crafts, and camping!

Carolyn Griffiths
Carolyn graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine in Spring 2010 with a degree in Politics. She has experience leading hiking trips for the junior high in her hometown, Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, and spent four summers teaching at a Boy Scout camp. She loves doing anything in the outdoors including hiking, snowboarding and rock climbing. Throughout college she raced on the Bates sailing team. Other interests include traveling, reading and cooking. Carolyn joined the Leadership School staff as an intern in the fall of 2010.

I am a 2008 graduate from BYU-Idaho with a major in Recreation Management. My hobbies and interests include, but are not limited to: backpacking, tennis, adventures, running, cooking, dress-up, thinking, shopping, family, friends, attempting new instruments, crafts, experiments, sewing, and exploring. In my leisure time I love spending time with my friends, family, nature, and making the most out of life! I'm looking forward my third summer at Wavus and to the best summer of our lives!

Kayleigh MacFarlane
Kayleigh graduated from Elmira College in 2009 with a degree in Biology-Chemistry. In addition to a love of sciences, she has a passion for the outdoors. Over the past year, she has been an Intern at The Leadership School gaining a lot of experience working with children. Kayleigh also loves hiking, acting, painting, and spontaneous dancing.

Pam Porter
I graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2009 with a double major in History and Art education. I was a teaching intern at The Leadership School at Kieve for a year and I am will be teaching History and Art in a Middle School in Salt Lake City Utah this fall. I love to climbing, kayaking, running, most sports, back packing, camping, watercolor painting, ceramics, taking long road trips across the country, and meeting new friends like you. I am way excited to be here and have a grand adventure.

Stephanie Ambroise
Hi!! My name is Stephanie Ambroise, and I am from Boston, Massachusetts. I am an incoming Senior at UMass Amherst, and I am a double major in English in Psychology with a French minor. I want to work at either a high school or a middle school as a counselor when I get out of school because I love working with and helping children. I also love reading, singing, writing, hiking, talking, dancing, and randomly bursting out into show tunes. I am MORE than excited to be working my first year at Wavus, and I cannot WAIT to meet the campers.

Christina Fogarasi
Christina is a rising Junior at Connecticut College. She has loved the outdoors for years and looks back fondly on her summers at Girl Scout camps and other nature-centered camps. She is extremely excited to meet the campers and work her first summer ever at Wavus! She is particularly looking forward to helping the campers tackle the Ropes course and canoe along the lake. In addition to camping, Christina loves reading, running, theatre, and Ultimate Frisbee.

She has spent two summers as a counselor at the Wavus Camp for Girls and we are pleased to welcome her to The Leadership School. Her hobbies include running, hiking, swimming and hosting Survivor: Wavus Island.

Lindsey Applebee
This is my second summer working at Wavus and I am very excited to be back! I am from Wiscasset, Maine, but I go to Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida where I will be a junior in the fall. I am majoring in Environmental Studies, so basically I love being outdoors and on the water. I cannot wait to meet all of you!

My name is Kayla Bell, but I also go by Quail. This is my first year at Wavus but not my last. I’ve lived in Huntington Beach, CA my whole life growing up surfing, camping and backpacking. Embracing all of what California offers. I am ready for all the new adventures and experiences Wavus will bring this summer. I plan to attend Oregon State University this upcoming fall semester majoring in Tourism and Outdoor Leadership. My dream is to ride waves and climb mountains.

Hayley Bright
I'm a Maine native from Cumberland and next fall I am going to be a sophomore at Wheaton College in Massachusetts studying Psychology. I attended Wavus in 2007 as a member ot the Allagash cabin. I had a blast at Wavus and can't wait to return this summer as a counselor. I play lacrosse, and enjoy swimming, sailing, and painting. Can't wait to see you all!

Lexi Casale
Hi! My name is Lexi Casale and this will be my first year at Wavus! I am from Hingham, MA but I am going to be a junior at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire studying the Social Sciences, with a focus on Political Science and Sociology and a minor in Spanish. I enjoy being outside in the summer and during the winters I teach skiing at Waterville Valley. I like spending time with friends and just being silly. I love land sports, skiing, dancing, baking and reading. And I am an expert at tie-dye! I cannot wait for camp; see you all soon!

Hey! My name is Elizabeth Cook and I am so excited to be starting my first year at Wavus! This fall I will be a sophmore at Furman University, but will be studying abroad in India! My name is Krista Cote, and I've been involved with Kieve-Wavus for two summers. I started out as a camper, and loved it so much that I am coming back as a counselor. I attend college at Southern Maine Community College as a freshman majoring in Liberal Studies. This is my first summer as a counselor and I cannot wait for it to begin! I love participating in group activities, playing softball, volleyball, and of course the ropes course! I'm looking forward to all the fun and excitement this summer has to offer!

Hey there! My name is Alex Danz and I am from Long Island, NY. I have been hooked on Kieve since the first 9/11 family camp in 2002! I was part of Kieve West in 2007 and I'm uber excited to be spending my summer, once again, at Wavus! I am a senior at SUNY New Paltz and am majoring in Earth Science Education. Katie Danz
My name is Katie Danz and I am going to be a sophomore at SUNY Cortland, where I'm majoring in Early Childhood Education. I was born, raised, and still live on Long Island. I enjoy all outdoor activities regardless of the weather, especially going to the beach, playing lacrosse, and going snowboarding. Ever since ten years ago, when I was first introduced to Damariscotta Lake due to the 9/11 Family Camp, I've been looking forward to going back up and spending the week. This will be my first summer spent at Wavus as a counselor and I'm so excited to get started!

This will be my second summer as a counselor at Wavus. I am a rising junior at Wesleyan University, majoring in Government with minors in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies. I had a great time at Wavus last summer, and I can't wait to see some familiar faces! Lindsay Dinsmore
As a resident of Jefferson, I grew up to be very familiar with both Kieve and Wavus. I attended the Kieve Leadership School as a 7th grade student and then worked at Kieve on Camper Connection in high school. I’m really excited to be involved again with the Kieve-Wavus family as a counselor. As a recent graduate of Connecticut College, I am looking forward to moving to Tanzania in the fall to teach kindergarten! I love the outdoors and especially working and playing with kids. I can’t wait to have a fun-filled summer on the lake!

Hi, I’m Alexa and this will be my first summer at Wavus! I will be a junior at the University of Connecticut, studying Psychology and Environmental Studies. I am very involved in the Eco House Learning Community on campus, and have a lot of cool things I’ve learned that I’d love to pass on. I have tons of hobbies I’m really looking forward to sharing too, such as crocheting, making hair wraps and jewelry, and playing the ukulele and singing. My name if Kelly Gould this will be my second summer with Wavus. This coming fall I will be a sophomore at Huntington University majoring in Elementary Education with a focus in History. Emory O Donnell
I am from Darien, CT and this will be my second summer at Wavus! I have spent the past year studying, traveling and working in the beautiful country of Nepal. My studies have focused on Nepali language, Comparative Religion - specifically Buddhism and Hinduism, Cultural Anthropology and Yoga philosophy and practice. I am spending this semester working as a photojournalist for a magazine, furthering my yoga practice, and trekking in the inspiring landscape of the Holy Himalayas, enjoying the beauty of the nature and the incredibly unique cultures that exist throughout the vast mountain range. This Fall I will embark on a year-long journey in India, Taiwan, Turkey and Thailand with the Comparative Religion and Culture program of Global College of Long Island University. I am so looking forward to sharing all that I have learned this past year with Wavus, and cannot wait to see all of last year's campers and meet all the new girls!

Hello, my name is Bailey Sitz and I currently live in Kingfield, ME. I attended Wavus for two years as a camper and I can't wait to be coming back for the first time as a counselor. In the winters I spend most of my time on Sugarloaf Mountain enjoying the snow and teaching children how to ski. This coming fall I am doing a semester with NOLS, the National Outdoor Leadership School, in the Pacific Northwest, to take my love for exploring and backpacking to the next level. Francke is a graduate from International High in San Francisco, with a French Baccalaureate Diploma in Science. She is planning to study Architecture at Tulane starting in the fall. She has been working as a camp counselor for the past three years at the YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club, is a former camper of Wavus to include doing the Kieve West trip in 2009. She loves kids and cannot wait to come back to Wavus this summer.
