Veterans' Camp
This is a chance for veterans and their families to kick back and enjoy fun outdoor and creative in a beautiful and peaceful setting on Damariscotta Lake, Maine.
Kieve-Wavus Education, in Nobleboro, Maine is sponsoring several free getaways for Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans, E8 and below (non-officers) and their significant others. This is a great opportunity, at no cost to veterans or their families, to enjoy the beautiful outdoors through fun activities. Other activities include rock climbing on our state-of-the-art indoor climbing wall, wood whittling, pottery, yoga, accupuncture, massage, hot tubing and evening entertainment. The object of the program is to engage service members and their significant others in challenging and fun activities that build rapport, camaraderie and support resiliency, health and well being. Veterans and their guests will stay in cabins on the shores of Damariscotta Lake. Kieve has developed this opportunity for veterans in consultation with the military and its colleagues. This program is endorsed by Matt Flavin, President Obama’s advisor on veterans’ affairs.
Kieve is a non-profit founded in 1926 and is sponsoring this amazing opportunity for veterans at no cost to them thanks to generous donations made by individuals who are deeply appreciative of our veterans.
