| Kieve's Leadership School enjoys Flatbread Pizza Benefit
September 10, 2006
The Leadership School held a fundraising event at Flatbread Pizza this past August and we are happy to report that we raised over $1,200 that evening! That's a lot of dough!
According to Flatbread Pizza, typical proceeds from this benefit range from $400 to $1,000. Thank you to all who supported The Leadership School by attending this benefit.
It was so much fun to see familiar faces including board members, EcoScienceWorks partners, former and current Leadership School and KieveWavus staff and their friends and families, students who have attended The Leadership School program, and Kieve and Wavus campers and their families, all in one room. Community support is crucial to our well-being as an organization, and we were so pleased to see how many people were willing to take time out of busy schedules to attend this dinner. It was truly a special night. Talk about a win-win, we were able to enjoy Portland's best pizza and help support our Leadership School at the same time!
Proceeds from the dinner and raffle will be used to support The Leadership School's programs. Many thanks go out to Flatbread Pizza's staff, which remained flexible and accommodating throughout the evening. Thanks also to our generous raffle donors, including Allagash Brewing Company (Portland), Artsake Framing Gallery (Damariscotta), Ben & Jerry?s (Freeport), Brunswick Bed & Breakfast, Children's Museum of Maine (Portland), Patagonia (Freeport), PORTopera, Portland Pirates, Portland Sea Dogs, and Shipyard Brewing Company (Portland). A final thanks to Flatbread Pizza's Jay Gould and John Meehan, who are clearly committed to the communities in which they do business.
