Kieve Hosts College Goal Sunday

Camp Kieve Hosts College Goal Sunday January 30
On the beautiful banks of Damariscotta Lake, working out of the Kennedy Learning Center, parents and their college bound children will complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. In collaboration with the Finance Authority of Maine and a dozen volunteers from Kieve Affective Education, coaching staff will walk participants through each line of the FAFSA. Participants will also be eligible to win a NEXT Gen account, a $1000.00 savings plan to go towards college expenses. Funding is possible through the Lumina Foundation and the NextGen College Investing Plan.
With the football pep rally theme, College Goal Sunday is a national event that takes place in ten states. In its second year, College Goal Sunday in Maine has been very successful. Camp Kieve is one of 15 sites statewide to host this event and the only site in Midcoast Maine.
The event begins at 2pm and will end at 4pm. High school seniors and families and anyone else needing assistance paying for higher education for the 2005-06 school year should attend. In order to complete the forms, participants must bring their most recent tax information.
