Who will be supervising my child?
The staff at The Leadership School are a group of young adults, all of whom are dedicated to making your son or daughters stay with us the best that it can be. From the hours of 8:00 am until 3:00 pm your student will be supervised by our teaching staff, and guided through a variety of activities by them. After 3:00 pm the students are turned over to our teaching interns.
Teaching Interns are the individuals who reside in the cabins with the students. It is their responsibility to make the students feel comfortable and safe when they are not in class. The PRO and Interns are constantly training and updating the games and activities that they present to the students. In the past they have offered interesting “choice time” activities; i.e. Iron Chef, Family Feud, bracelet making and painting, just to name a few. Nearly every week our cabin staff is coming up with and instituting new, fun activities for the students that we have here.
It is also the responsibility of the cabin staff to be able to identify the “teachable moments” with in the cabins, and use them to reinforce the messages that the students learn while they are in the classroom during the day.
On Thursday evenings the Interns host “Celebration.” “Celebration” is an event that is used to wrap up the Residential week, in which students are invited to “come as you aren’t” and spend the evening dancing with The Leadership School Staff.
