Testing the Mind and Spirit

At the heart of each Kieve program is the desire to educate, to provide boys and girls and the adults who work with them information and role models that will help them meet the challenges of the future. Nurtured by the beauty and simplicity of the Nobleboro campus, people are offered a fresh start, encouraged to leave their "safe harbors" to explore, and to become what they aspire to be, assisted along the way by older and more experienced mentors. Thousands of kids each year return to their homes and schools as changed people – stronger, more confident, full of new life experiences, and with new friends, appreciation, and dreams.

Boys’ Camp: At the heart of Kieve, Boys' Camp teaches youngsters to live with each other and with themselves in an environment that encourages cooperation, coexistence, and boosts their self-esteem. They will never forget sunrise seen from the deck of Pasquaney, or hearing their first loon, or the friends they make for life. Kieve West: A 25-day co-ed summer wilderness expedition set in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. 16-18 year olds gain confidence and leadership skills as they work together to accomplish the incredible challenge of small group backcountry travel. The Leadership School: Experiential education for Maine middle school students and their teachers and parents on teamwork, tolerance, and making healthy life decisions has become a national model. Over the past 25 years, The Leadership School has touched over 1/4 of Maine school kids.
Wavus Camp for Girls: Girls develop their individual potential in a supportive, non-competitive environment and increase their confidence by allowing them the independence to make decisions on their own. The program and philosophy is similar to our venerable Boys' Camp. Kennedy Learning & Conference Center: Powerful learning experiences are offered to adults who work with children as well as to corporate and organizational teams. 9/11 Family Camp:
Originally intended as a time and place for healing for the families affected by 9/11, this is now an essential annual program for them and the volunteers who help make it happen.
