Wavus Camp for Girls Council
Wavus Camp for Girls is looking to hire about 60 young women for its staff. In line with the Kieve motto, "to strive
in emulation of", Wavus looks for applicants who will
be positive role models for our campers and who will bring to the
camp energy, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to do whatever
is necessary to help each member of the community have the best
possible experience. Wilderness tripping experience and prior mentoring
experience are beneficial but not required. Responsibilities may
include supervising a cabin, overseeing one of a number of recreational
activities, covering organized swim periods, and assisting with
evening activities.
Applicants must have graduated from high school and be a minimum
of eighteen-years-old. Compensation is negotiable, and
dependent
upon age and experience. Benefits include room and board, laundry
facilities, a staff recreational area, and computer
and Internet
access. But the greatest benefit comes with the interaction with
a great group of campers and peers and the beautiful lakefront
location
on Damariscotta Lake.
The employment period extends nine weeks from mid-June
to mid-August and includes a nine-day orientation
program.
Interested parties should contact Suse Wicks by
email or call (207) 563-5172
. Summer number (207) 549-5719
