Family Reunions
The KENNEDY LEARNING CENTER provides an absolutely
wonderful opportunity for family members of all ages to come together
and enjoy each other’s company. With cooking and housekeeping
taken care of by our staff, families can relax, communicate, share,
and take pleasure in the beautiful setting in which they find themselves.
Each season brings its own delights. Winter
usually finds the ground covered with snow and the lake frozen solid,
opening up numerous opportunities for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing,
and downhill skiing is available within an hour’s drive. Or
one can merely sit by the fireplace and enjoy a good book.
In spring, the land re-awakens, renewed
and beautiful. Loons return to nest on the lake, and intrepid anglers
take to the waters. The KLC’s staff is always happy to suggest
expeditions to nearby points of interest, be they shopping emporiums
in Freeport or Camden or well-known art exhibitions and museums.
The difficulty with summer is that there
is too much to do and not enough time to do it. Should one remain
at the Center, canoeing, swimming, kayaking or merely lying out
on the dock soaking up the rays? Or what about a cruise on Muscongus
Bay, followed by a lobster cookout at Kieve’s Bremen property?
An all-family pickup softball game can be followed by a traditional
steak fry with all the trimmings. And, of course, there’s
always a trip to the Round Top Ice Cream stand.
Then there’s autumn, when the leaves
turn brilliant hues and the pace of life slackens. There’s
time for quiet paddles on the lake, long walks near the ocean, peaceful
drives through the country roads, and evenings rocking the hours
away on the Center’s wraparound porch watching the sun set
across the lake.
And there’s always the hot tub!
Kieve’s staff welcomes the opportunity to
work with family groups to plan a program that completely meets
their expectations. Your stay with us can be as active and adventuresome
or as laid back and peaceful as you wish. And you won’t have
to do the dishes! |
